Voice Avatar Image Node

A study observing social impact of technology, future of identity and communication process.

Virtual environments have allowed the creation of alternative personas, adapting a new set of communication rituals. VAIN’s design process evolved through artifacts of physical-virtual blogs, exploring digital social networks, sound visuals, laser voice drums, workshops, card games and digital interactive interfaces. The final analog visual production system (based on principals of seeing sound waves) makes analogy to self-reflection and the extension of self.
The concept proposes an alternative to digital communication, challenging the perception of emerging technology. Potential for development include areas of music, speech recognition, special education, distant communications and studies of social interaction.
